I’ve been working on this vintage double wedding ring, making repairs and embellishing since Oct., 2025 and I’m happy to report that I’m near the end with only 2 things to finish: 1. The binding and 2. Addressing several areas of old stains.

I’m showing this beauty on a queen bed to give you an idea of the size.
I was able to salvage areas of another very old piece of a quilt, used my Accuquilt to cut hearts and finally, applique stitched them to every other DWR block center.

If you enlarge each picture you will see all the laces, trims, fabrics and machine decorative stitching used to repair this well loved, well used quilt.

But what’s up with all the safely pins? They are a quick visual for me indicating I’ve done the machine decorative stitching in all the white areas. I will remove them once I have finished with the binding.

Such a rewarding project! It makes me so happy to “save” the old quilts, maybe some day when one of mine is tattered and torn someone will rise to the challenge and do the same. ❤️
I hope next time you see an old tattered quilt that you think about how you could save it. 🙂
Finally, how about a picture of our patriotic decorations on our Hamilton, TX home.

Blessings and happy quilting,
Rhonda
